- This is me:
I don't actually have that bad posture; my camera has a far too short self-timer, and I couldn't get into position in time. The computer is a 1.42 Ghz iBook with a 14 inch screen. My OS of love is actually linux, but it's hard to get a linux laptop that's high-quality without purchasing a Microsoft product, which I have sworn never to do. So I have an iBook. It has my entire life in it, so home is where /home/root is.
(update: I broke the screen on my iBook. This makes me sad.) - This is where I go to school:
The University of Ottawa (picture pending). I'm a master's English/Philosophy student, who enjoys his studies far too much. I have been on the Dean's Honour List three years running. My current plans for the future involve getting my Ph.D. and spending my life in books. - My favourite books are the following:

- It would rock if I finished all these short-term plans:
- Learn French (I'm currently listening to a lot of Bizet to help this; je peut parler un peu, et comprendre un peu de plus, mais ma grammaire est horrible).
- Learn German (I haven't got very far with this, yet, so this will take some time).
- Learn Ancient Greek (I know the alphabet and can identify a few words, but I'm not good yet)
- Finish my thesis in one year
- Become more productive
- Finish my novels.
- Lose fat. (I'm a bear--my weight doesn't bother me for looks--but I have high blood pressure)
- Learn French (I'm currently listening to a lot of Bizet to help this; je peut parler un peu, et comprendre un peu de plus, mais ma grammaire est horrible).
- When I'm not completing my short-term plans (or slacking off), I'm often volunteering and giving to charity; I volunteer with and donate to LiveWorkPlay every Friday evening, volunteer with Librivox pretty regularly, donate to Oxfam, occasionally volunteer and donate to The Ottawa Food Bank, and click on these advertisement-sponsored charities every day:
Click here to post this on your page or 'blog - But I don't only donate to and volunteer for chairty; politically, I'm a red NDPer who continually flirts with Marxist thought. I know that sounds bizarre (To all non-Canadians: a red NDPer is someone on the right side of this social democratic party, while Marx (whom I do love) is on the left side), but I'm sure it'll make more sense once you get to know me. I try to help out as much as I can with the NDP, though I missed most of the volunteer opportunities last election because I was a bit unstable at the time.
- Of course, I don't spend all my money on charity and politics. I am also obsessed with my Nintendo Wii (# 0094 5530 8111 4413), and have this Amazon Wishlist.
